A Quiet Hoi An
This woodcut was inspired by a recent trip back to Hoi An where a lack of tourists meant you could really take in the ancient town's beautiful architecture. The pandemic and also the recent storms have really put local businesses here to the test but things are looking up as visitors slowly return.
This illustration was hand drawn from my own photography on a bike trip through the ancient town.
4 layer woodcut reduction print, carved from a 20 x 30cm Japanese magnolia woodblock. Hand painted in two stages with watercolor and printed on Arches 300 GSM archival rag.
