Whilst living in Kakadu National Park, Australia I created this wooblock inspired by the ancient cave paintings I saw there. The artists believed that by erasing a single line you are destroying the soul of the image. I also learned alot about the importance of intuitiveness and techniques to achieve different textures.
I spent 3 months living and working in Jabiru a small town built to house miners and had the chance to explore the mountains, fish for barrumundi with wild crocs and learn about the local community who lived there for many thousands of years.
This 20 edition was carved in Australia then hand burnished in London.
