Flowers + Fish

In the early evening in Saigon after the rain there is a wonderful atmosphere. The streets are damp, the air is cool and as the sunsets you can experience some beautifully rich colours. This woodcut is inspired by a walk through a local alley way market near my house in district 4 on the way to my wife’s parent’s house.  To the right of the image you can see the flower stall with a selection of live seafood underneath in buckets.

 

This set of woodcuts have been individually coloured with water colour.

 

Limited edition of 12,  hand burnished woodcuts on Arches hot press 300 GSM paper 100% cotton rag, archival inks. Hand carved and printed.
