Hue Citadel
This 6 layered, hand burnished woodcut was originally a private commission which I decided to extend to a limited edition print run of 7. I was asked to create a more traditionally themed print as a gift which celebrated the beauty of Vietnam in a less commercial way. I chose Hue Citadel as a subject but decided against the famous main entrance preferring this lesser known side entrance. This sums up my feelings towards Vietnam as I feel the real beauty and magic can be found in the smaller things off the beaten track of many tourist attractions.

Hue Citadel
Originally a private commission I created this design inspired by a trip to the Hue Citadel in central Vietnam. Rather than choose the main gate I decided to create this image from a lesser known side entrance.
